The sole purpose of this project is to discuss the effectiveness of District Health Information System in recording, extracting and management of health information in Garisa county since the year 2013. It clearly defines DHIS2 by giving its importance, relevance and how it has impacted the management of health records in the county.The methodology adopted in the research involve obtaining the cross health record of the whole county from the District Health Information System database from the year 2013 to 2017 which entails the records of all the health facilities in the county , ranging from dispensaries to the county referral hospital. The data is cross tabulation of diseases ,deaths and other health related records. The findings from the research are then represented graphically showing overall trend over the period under consideration. The data are analysed using mathematical and statistical models and approaches. Interpretations are then made based on the analysis and represented graphically in systematic manner, giving a clear indication of the reality.Conclusions are then made based on the observation from the analysis .The recommendations are then made to the concerned management of Garissa county Health ministry. This involves measures to counter various diseases and assignment of health officers based on various attacks of respective diseases and the balances of resources for the purpose of policy making.
